The course starts now and never ends! It is a completely self-paced online course - you decide when you start and when you finish.
How long do I have access to the course?
How does lifetime access sound? After enrolling, you have unlimited access to this course for as long as you like - across any and all devices you own. You can also refer to it as you walk through the steps on your own and pause / rewind as needed.
Do I need web design experience?
Not at all! This course will walk you through the entire process from how to secure your domain URL, to how to design your site and upload information. I will teach you how to use WordPress, which is most powerful website building platform.
What do I need to start?
At the very least, you should have a copy of your résumé so you can load in the content onto your website. I also will be showing you how to add a portfolio and blog section to your website, which you add whenever you'd like. I recommend that you start compiling content and think about blog topics to include,
Why do I need a blog?
I'm a HUGE believer in a blog and think it is the most important asset on your website. While it is not a required component to launch your website, but it is a critical piece to add credibility, demonstrate your expertise, and spotlight your personality to your website's audience. This will help you stand out! A blog is also a strong tool to position yourself in your field. For instance, if you're a recent college graduate with very little real work experience, then use your blog to your advantage to share your perspective! You can write thought-provoking posts about topics in your industry that will be sure to wow recruiters and help you land the interview.
How do I publish blog posts if I'm not a good writer?
The point of this website is to help you tap into your passions. When you write about things you love and find interesting, it will come much more easily! I recommend writing at least three to five, short blog posts. 300 to 500 words is all you need! Use online tools to help you fix grammar mistakes and ask a close friend to proofread before you post, and you're all set. And remember, don't worry about being perfect. Just let your ideas flow and be yourself.
